CCYP Consultation Groups for young people in care

Do you wish that your young person’s voice was better heard by those who work within the child protection system?

Connecting Foster and Kinship Carers SA is excited to announce a unique opportunity for your young person’s voice to be heard by the South Australian Commissioner for Children and Young People (CCYP). We are inviting your young person to share issues that really matter to them through a group consultation with the Commissioner. Their concerns will be highlighted in an anonymised written report the Commissioner will use to advocate for systemic change to policies, programs, and practices that affect foster and kinship young people in South Australia.

There are limited spots available for a group session (approximately 1hr) to be held after school or on a weekend in February/March 2022 (nibbles & refreshments provided). To take part, your young person will be aged between 14 and 18, though the age bracket may be adjusted on a case by case basis. We strongly encourage young people from all backgrounds to join us in order to enable a diverse range of voices to be heard.

We believe that people are the experts in their own lives. This is a unique opportunity for your young person’s voice to be heard by policy influencers.

To chat more about this opportunity, please contact our Project Officer, Emma Feagan, via email on emma@cfc-sa.org.au or phone 0447 428 168. You may also contact our free number on 1800 732 272.
