The call for nominations for the board of Connecting Foster & Kinship Carers – SA Inc (CF&KC-SA) is now open.
CF&KC-SA is the independent peak representative body for Foster & Kinship Carers across South Australia with a membership of over 1000 individuals. Our vision is to ensure the voice of all SA Foster & Kinship Carers is represented and their rights upheld, whilst they care for children and young people under guardianship.
Service on the CF&KC-SA board offers the opportunity to drive the strategic goals of the independent peak representative body and shape the future of family based care – an essential element of South Australia’s child protection system.
CF&KC-SA is seeking nominations from motivated and enthusiastic individuals who possess the skills, qualities and experience to collectively contribute to effective board governance. CF&KC-SA particularly welcomes applications from individuals keen to provide a cultural voice for the Board, providing a First Nations voice and perspective on the work we do.
We seek applications from applicants with experience in one or more of the following:
- lived experience as a Carer (past or present)
- providing First Nations voice and perspective to a Board
- financial management and/or treasurer roles
- media and communications
- fundraising
- research
- governance
We are looking for candidates who are available to serve for a two-year term. Board members are expected to work collaboratively with peers, attend and participate in governance training, monthly board meetings and the Annual General Meeting. Board members will have the opportunity to be involved in various projects, committees and to attend key events held throughout each year. The role of Board Member is voluntary and unpaid.
Interested parties are encouraged to submit a resume with two references in addition to a cover letter setting out:
- Their relevant skills and experience
- Why they want to join the CF&KC-SA board
- Their knowledge and understanding of the duties of a Board member
- They hold a current DHS Working with Children Check and SAPOL Police Check
- They are a permanent South Australian resident
