Families SA: Staff vacancy numbers in dispute as union warns employees ‘burnt out’

Further controversy has fallen upon South Australia’s besieged state child protection agency with a dispute emerging over the number of staff vacancies that need filling.

The Public Service Association said there were 188 staffing vacancies at Families SA rather than the 128 it said it needed to fill in late January. It comes amid mounting pressure to fill vacancies following several high-profile scandals within the department.
