Carer Council Consultation 2026
The Carer Council invites the carer community to provide feedback on topics scheduled for discussion throughout 2026. These include:
- Best experience of family contact
- Sibling connections for children and young people in care
- Education for children and young people in care
Consultation will close on 8 June 2026 at 9pm.
You may provide feedback by:
- Completing our online anonymous survey – click here to access
- Attending an individual or small group session to provide and discuss your feedback with a Carer Council member or our Project Lead – click here to register your interest. Sessions will be arranged subject to interest and availability

Note on feedback
CF&KC-SA acknowledges that some carers may feel consultation fatigue when being asked to provide feedback since there has been a long history of child protection inquiries and consultation pieces that carers have participated in over many years. Please be assured that the Carer Council is briefed on important inquiries and consultation pieces, ensuring these past pieces of work are not forgotten. The overall aim is to ensure that the Carer Council is informed on emerging and evolving issues, as well as the old and ongoing ones, to enable community experiences and feedback to inform the Council’s advice to the Minister.
