Newest Graduates – Diploma of Community Services

It was a joy to celebrate the newest graduates of the Diploma for Community Services recently at Parliament House.
Congratulations to you all on this amazing achievement!
Foster and Kinship Carers from cohort 9 and the second group of First Nations students were presented their parchments by The Hon. Katrine Hildyard MP, with invited guests Jackie Bray (CE) and Amy Kane (Director Care Services) from Department for Child Protection SA, friends and families.
We are so proud to partner in this initiative with David and Angela Bradford from Bradford Institute of Advanced Education to provide carers this wonderful opportunity to be acknowledged and recognised for their life experiences.
It is a delight to see three of those carers: Verity, Kylie and Naomi, have now become trainers of the course themselves, along with carer Maureen as a volunteer tutor.
We bid a sad farewell to the fabulous Chris Barrett who has been training with these cohorts since the first pilot group in 2019 and wish her all the very best and happiness in her retirement.
We are excited to announce there are now over 150 South Australian carers who have been accredited with this national qualification. A current cohort 10 is underway, with a planned third group of First Nations too.
