Children and Young People (Safety and Support) Bill 2025

CF&KC-SA is pleased to see the Children and Young People (Safety and Support) Bill 2025 recently pass both chambers of SA parliament. We are proud to share with the membership that several of our proposed legislation amendments and elections asks of the government are now locked firmly into legislation, specifically procedural fairness, recognition of the carer peak body, enshrining the carer Statement of Commitment and embedding the care concerns processes (now known as Quality of Care reports).

We thank the community for trusting their input and direct experiences of the child protection system with the peak body, by way of multiple mediums. CF&KC-SA has fiercely advocated for the carer voice to be included in the refresh of this important legislation, and we look forward to directly contributing to how the legislation will influence policy and practice.
