Grief and Transition Support Group: Due to feedback and requests from our Carer community CF&KC-SA will be establishing a support group for interested Carers in 2020

Many Carers are dealing with grief associated with a placement ending, sometimes unexpected, sometimes planned. This grief is unique and often unseen, unrecognized and misunderstood by communities and society. Connecting Foster and Kinship Carers with the support of Carer Volunteers would like to create a safe and supportive space for carers to connect with one another in a helpful manner.

You are invited to an information and planning session to discuss the formation of the group, what a ‘terms of reference’ might look like and explore the best way to establish a “Grief & Transitions Support Group” for Carers.

The Agenda for the meeting will include:

• Grief & Loss – a unique experience for Foster & Kinship Carers
• Why a support group? – the emerging need from our Carers
• A proposed terms of reference – establishing guiding principles
• Opportunities & challenges going forward
• Next Steps
