CFKC feedback on State Strategy
The legislation that passed last year requires the Minister to develop a State Strategy. This Strategy should point to a future with better outcomes for children and young people in care and set a clear, whole of government, whole of sector, ambitious path.
As it currently stands, it does not do this. CFKC were recently invited to provide feedback to DCP on the draft State Strategy – you can read our submission here.
The feedback in our document draws on the work we do every day with foster and kinship carers, and our expertise as experienced practitioners and policy makers. We hope the contributions in this document assist in shaping a State Strategy that provides the ambition, clarity and practical direction needed to improve outcomes for children and young people in care.
