Recruiting CF&KC-SA Board Members
The Board of CF&KC-SA remains committed to ensuring effective governance and is preparing to take the next steps in the transition towards becoming a skills-based board.
The Board has identified 2 priority areas – kinship care and media expertise – and is seeking to recruit and appoint 2 individuals with the following capabilities to help guide CF&KC-SA into the future.
1. Kinship care
Seeking an active kinship carer able to communicate the needs of kinship carer families.
Ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
– Be involved with other kinship carers and kinship carer groups
– Have the ability to effectively represent CF&KC-SA with other kinship carers, kinship and foster carer groups, and with DCP and other stakeholders
– Understand the similarities and differences between kinship care and foster care
– Have experience connecting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
– Possess current knowledge of child protection sector and reforms
2. Media expertise
Seeking an experienced media person able to lead CF&KC-SA across various mediums.
Ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
– Have recent media industry experience
– Support the effective representation of CF&KC-SA across all forms of media, including social media
– Bring existing networks and form relationships with a range of media in South Australia
– Guide successful media campaigns and stakeholder communications
– Have not-for-profit Board experience

The selection committee will review applications for both positions and make a time to meet with suitable candidates. These positions will be available from July and are voluntary (unpaid) with monthly Board meetings held during business hours. A current Police Check and Working with Children check (DCSI Child-related screening) will be required.
